Sketches are done almost everyday for practice. To do them justice, I have decided to post them here, for your sake :P
Art is not just a subject or something I do for a livelihood, it is a means by which I used frequently to see things more clearly. Art has also changed many things regarding my life. I was an engineer but now I am an artist, a freelance illustrator and designer. I started journaling more seriously a few years back by sketching, writing and scrapbooking on my sketchbooks.
I sketched everyday, during my free time and whenever I was out in coffeeshops, shopping malls, restaurants, church and also places of heritage. The sketches become memories that I would always cherish, and after a while, these sketches help me to remember things better as they become footprints that threaded all the little bits and pieces of my daily encounters, travel experiences and stories of people and places.
Sketching also led me to opportunities like designing some national stamps, and getting published in these books: “Urban Sketchers Singapore”, “The Art of Urban Sketching”, the Neighbourhood series by Epigram and “An Illustrated Journey: Inspiration from the Private Art Journals of Traveling Artists, Illustrators and Designers”.
